Meet the Animals

Meet Daisy, our wonderful labradoodle in training as a therapy dog for our sessions. Daisy is a bundle of joy, with a wagging tail and a cheerful spirit that instantly brightens everyone’s day. She loves nothing more than running around in the fresh air, chasing sticks, and playing to her heart’s content. But don’t be fooled by her playful energy—Daisy is also a cuddle enthusiast who adores a good fuss and gentle attention. Her friendly and calming presence makes her a perfect fit for connecting with people, and we’re thrilled to have her as part of our mission to bring smiles, comfort, and healing through nature and play.

Meet Bah-Bah and Black Sheep: Our Shetland Sheep Duo!

Bah-Bah and Black Sheep, our beautiful mother-and-daughter Shetland sheep. These two lovely ladies joined our farm last year after their previous owners had to move house, and they’ve settled in perfectly!

Black Sheep, the mother, is the more confident and curious of the pair, always leading the way. Bah-Bah, her daughter, is a little more reserved but just as sweet. Together, they love roaming freely around the farm, grazing on fresh grass, and soaking up the sunshine whenever it decides to grace us.

We’re so happy to give these two a home and can’t wait to share more of their adventures with you! Keep an eye out for updates from these fluffy members of the family.

Meet Daisy and Dotty – Our Newest Additions to Fields Farm!

We are thrilled to welcome Daisy and Dotty the duo of donkeys to their new home at Fields Farm! These two lovely ladies, mother and daughter, haven’t had the easiest start in life. They were kept as pets in a barn with little grazing and a poor diet. When their owner became unwell, they were rescued, but the rescue centre didn’t have enough space for them both.

During their stay there, Daisy sadly injured her leg, and it was feared she might not make it. But Daisy is a fighter! Thanks to the determination of her previous owner and her own resilience, she made a remarkable recovery.

Now at Fields Farm, Daisy and Dotty are getting all the love and attention they deserve. We’re focusing on a new, nutritious diet to help them get healthier and providing them with plenty of space to exercise and enjoy the outdoors.

These two sweet souls have already stolen our hearts, and we can’t wait to see them thrive in their new forever home. Stay tuned for updates on their journey to happiness and health!

We are delighted to introduce our three beautiful peafowl: Derek, Derek, and Doris. Their journey to our farm has been filled with unexpected twists and turns, and we’re excited to share their story with you.

Last year, we welcomed our first pair of peafowl, Derek and Doris. After spending 12 weeks acclimating in their new enclosure, we released them into the wider environment. Unfortunately, a sudden change in weather disoriented them, leading to Doris’s tragic loss to a fox, and Derek went missing.

We reached out to our local Facebook groups, seeking assistance in locating Derek. About a week later, there was a sighting. Despite our extensive searches in the reported area, Derek remained elusive. Weeks passed, and fearing the worst, we decided to introduce a new pair, naming them Derek and Doris, in honor of the originals.

Shortly after their arrival, we noticed a post in our local Facebook group about a peacock that had been frequenting someone’s garden for six weeks, becoming somewhat of a nuisance. We quickly realized this was our original Derek! We promptly set out to retrieve him and successfully brought him back to the farm.

After a few weeks of reintroduction in the enclosure, we released the trio—Derek, Derek, and Doris—into the environment. This time, the release was successful, and they bonded wonderfully. They’ve established a routine, roosting atop the barn at night and greeting us by the kitchen window each morning, eagerly awaiting their treats.

Peafowl are known for their strong homing instincts and social behaviors. They often roost in high places to stay safe from predators and can become quite attached to their human caregivers, especially when food is involved.

We’re thrilled to have this charming trio as part of our farm family and look forward to the joy they’ll bring to all our visitors.

🌟 Meet Charlie, our 2-year-old black beauty! 🌟

Charlie is full of energy and love, and you’ll often find him running alongside his bestie, Simon. These two are inseparable and always up to some kind of adventure!

Life hasn’t always been easy for Charlie—when he was just 1 year old, he sadly broke his back leg. We’re not entirely sure how it happened—maybe a little too much rough-and-tumble play with Simon, or perhaps a misstep while sprinting around.

Thanks to the incredible care, dedication, and love from Kate and Charlotte, Charlie made an amazing recovery. Today, he’s back to doing what he loves most: tearing around the fields farm, happy and carefree with his friends.

Charlie’s resilience and spirit inspire us every day—he’s truly one of a kind! 🖤

Meet Simon!

Say hello to Simon, our first baby boy and one of our original alpacas! Simon holds a special place in our hearts—not just because he’s adorable, but because he shares a birthday with Kate’s daughter, Hallie, making him extra special.

At 2 years old, Simon is full of personality and can often be found hanging out with his bestie, Charlie. He’s incredibly photogenic, always curious, and never shies away from the camera.

His favorite treat? Grapes! Simon is always up for a snack and loves being the center of attention. Keep an eye out for this charming little guy the next time you visit!

Introducing our beautiful fawn-coloured trio of alpacas: George , Sammy, and Robbie! These three have always lived together and share an unbreakable bond. Whether it’s play fighting or munching on their favourite treat—carrots—they’re always full of energy (and noise)!

Fun fact: George has quite the dramatic side and isn’t afraid to scream like a girl when things get exciting.

They’re currently 2 years old and will be celebrating their 3rd birthdays this May and June. Stay tuned for more antics from this cheeky crew!

Meet the youngest members of our herd:

Colin and Baby Dave!

Colin
Colin is a 1-year-old Suri alpaca, and his fleece is truly something special! Unlike Huacaya alpacas, who have dense, fluffy fleece, Suri alpacas like Colin grow long, silky locks that drape elegantly like twisted threads. It’s perfect for producing luxurious fabrics!

Colin, however, doesn’t seem too bothered by his stylish fleece. He’s one of our quieter alpacas, often found at the back of the herd, happily minding his own business. He’s a hay enthusiast with a soft spot for carrots, content to nibble away while the rest of the gang competes for attention.

Baby Dave
Don’t let his name—or his size—fool you! Baby Dave is the smallest of the herd, but he’s full of personality and big alpaca energy. Also 1 year old, he’s as curious as they come and always ready to get stuck in—especially when it’s feeding time! Despite his small stature, Dave isn’t shy about muscling his way to the front, ensuring everyone knows that he means business.

These two may be the youngest, but they’ve already carved out their unique roles in the herd. Colin is the calm observer, while Baby Dave is the cheeky go-getter! Keep an eye on them—they’re sure to bring plenty of charm (and a little mischief) to your day!
